Post-Placement / Adoption

Domestic and Some Foreign Countries

Adoption is rarely finalized before the child is brought into in the adoptive family's home.  Because the adoption is not yet finalized, follow up visits by the social worker, commonly referred to as post placement reports are required as mandated by adoption laws. A progress report is then completed by the social worker to assure the courts that the child is thriving in their new home. In the case of international adoptions most countries finalize the adoption, prior to the child coming home with their new family. When the adoption is finalized in the foreign country, post adoption services are provided according to the requirements of your child placing agency and the foreign country. Typically, you will know and have agreed to the post adoption requirements of the foreign country and your placing agency, prior to completing your home study.  It is a genuine privilege to meet the new addition to your family and celebrate the completion of the process with your family.

TESTIMONIAL

Paulette / Social Worker

"When people ask me about the adoption process, I start by telling them that the most important thing you need to do is find a good social worker - one who not only moves you through the home study process, but one who understands adoption and all the feelings that go along with it.  Throughout my adoption process, I worked with 3 different agencies in 3 different states. Owners and social workers at those agencies each commented that Paulette was on top of things, organized and nice.  She provided everyone with everything they needed in case my baby was born early.  Good thing, because my little guy was born a month early!  Paulette was right there, engaged with both states, helping to shepherd the process along.  We cannot say enough good things about her and we will certainly reach out to her again when we are ready to grow our family, again."
