Jim - We now laugh about being nervous before the home study. Mary was very comfortable to talk with and the discussion actually helped us recognize a couple of simple things that we hadn't thought about up to that point.

The process of adopting a child to complete our family seemed rather intimidating and intrusive. Mary immediately put to rest any notions we had about the dreaded home study. Her demeanor and personality made it easy for us to open up our lives to her inspection. She puts you at ease at once, and makes you feel as if you have known her forever.

We adopted domestically and Mary guided us through the paperwork. When notice came of our daughter's birth, Mary followed up the interstate documentation so that we could bring our baby home across state lines. Mary made it clear from the beginning that she was in our corner. Her constant encouragement and guidance made the adoption of our now 8-month old daughter a reality.

We really enjoyed working with Mary. She impressed us immediately as being knowledgeable & down-to-earth. She's also very approachable, which made the whole home-study process much more comfortable for us. She communicated well with our adoption agency (CCAI) and made sure they had exactly what they needed. And the best thing? No delays. . .she was able to schedule our home visits quickly, and the home study document was done when she said it would be. We're looking forward to working with her again for our post-placement visits--we'd recommend her services to anyone!

On February 3, 2001 we had the pleasure of meeting with Mary Marrs as we began the process of our home study. This was a particularly hard time for us as we were told on February 2, 2001 that a domestic adoption we were pursuing fell apart. Mary was very sympathetic, understanding and encouraged us to not give up the hope in becoming parents.

We cannot stress enough how efficient our home study was prepared. The attorney in Guatemala even complimented the fact that ours was a "picture perfect" case. We feel that is due in part to the well written, organized and efficient way that Mary presented our materials. We would highly recommend Mary's services to anyone considering an adoption. Our daughter came home with us on August 21, 2001!

Before we began our homestudy, we talked with other adoptive families and Mary Marrs was highly recommended. We spoke with her by phone before our homestudy. We were very comfortable with her, and many of our fears were alleviated by our first conversation. She is very personable, and she genuinely cares about her role is helping to unite children with their future parents. Because of her years of experience in the adoption arena, she is very comfortable and knowledgable about the homestudy process. We were able to relax because we knew that Mary was comptetent and reliable. There were times following the homestudy that we called on Mary for help in updating forms. She always returned our calls and helped us do whatever was needed by our agency. It was truly a pleasure working with Mary, and we would definitely recommend her services.
